Fun with an Eternal Purpose

Parents arriving early are having a hard time getting their children to leave! The Good News Club team at J.B. Blayton has been together since 2017 working to provide a high energy club for the students. Most of the team has been together since spring of 2017. All our volunteers are willing to do whatever needs to be done, even with our Zoom meetings during Covid.

After spending six hours in a classroom, we feel the children need a lot of movement at regular intervals. Our Bible teaching segment is limited, as much as possible, to 15 minutes. We set the schedule so after any teaching segment, we have an activity that requires participation and movement.

These activities include the songs, memory verse repetition game, and review game. For the memory verse repetition game, we make changes to the suggested game to be sure the children are moving.

We usually ended club with the review game. The game might be a version of hot potato; Family Feud; bouncing pass to the next person; Duck, Duck, Goose—anything to get them moving during the review game. Parents arriving early often have a hard time getting their children to leave!
