Valentine’s Day Tea for York Co. GNC/5DC Team

Each February, the GNC/5-Day Club® (5DC) team from York County holds a Valentine’s Day Tea to share what they learned at Christian Youth in Action®  (CYIA) and how God used them to lead 5DC children’s ministry this past summer. The gathering is a fundraiser for camp fees and gas/supplies for the year of GNC/5DC ministry ahead.

Dianne Tate is the organizer for the team; Valerie Jeter has been the adult chaperone for the team this past year.

This is Dianne’s report from the Valentine’s Day Tea:

We had 65 people attend which included 11 teens who helped. Most of the extra helpers were friends of Renee Todd but had attended or helped with a 5-day club in the past. It was Lily’s first tea party to help. Two other young ladies said they might be interested in CYIA, but already had summer commitments. Maybe next year they will join us!

John Allon Steiner, Will Todd & Lilly Ye gave testimonies about what was most meaningful about their summer. All agreed seeing the children excited to learn about Jesus was a highlight. Will & Lily will attend CYIA.

Will & John Allon will be helping with our one week of 5-Day Clubs on Aug. 5-9 with 3 clubs each day that week! Clubs are planned at Bethel Chapel on Langley AFB, Newport Harbour Community Center with Mr. Gatlin, and 3rd at Hope Church.

We also had 3 International guys from Fiji attend the tea! They are attending courses at the Coast Guard Station in Yorktown.

We raised enough funds to send our 2 kids to CYIA and maybe Jackie Daniels and Laura Smith go as the adults.

Thanks for talking about this!  -Dianne

We are praying for more teens to go to camp this year from CEF of Peninsula. Their energy and commitment make them perfect summer missionaries!
