Our 4th Annual CEF Valentine Fundraiser Banquet was a great success! The purpose of this yearly banquet is to raise funds for Newport News teens to go to the week-long CEF Training camp for Christian Youth in Action (CYIA) in June.

Our wonderful music team of Chip and Nikki Headley from Tennessee, Country Gospel Music did several inspiring numbers. They come every year by donation only. Dianne Tate met them several years ago at Bass Pro when her GNC teens were wrapping gifts for tips!

Retired Navy Chaplain Dale Parker was our speaker. Chaplain Parker serves as Vice President and Professor at the Faith Bible College in Norfolk and English Pastor at the Peninsula Chinese Baptist Church in Yorktown. He shared with us the importance of reaching children for Christ NOW. He is convinced that children are being targeted by ungodly and destructive forces as never before.

In all, 29 children professed faith in Jesus as a result!

Thanks to all from Bethel Chapel who gave of their time and talents to decorate, cook, and give. Our teens served the meal, but also saw by adult example what it means to serve others.
CEF of Richmond and Peninsula were represented by Amy, Charlie & Maggie Haines from Richmond; Kevin Mooers, Carol & Jesse Smith. Several parents of our Good News Club children from Coventry were there also!

We are so grateful to all who generously gave to help pay tuition to the training camp. Last summer, 6 teens attended the CYIA training camp and ran 5-Day Clubs/VBS ministry at 7 different locations. In all, 29 children professed faith in Jesus as a result!
Please join us in praying that the Lord will raise up more young people who are willing to learn HOW to effectively share His Message of Salvation with children.

Next year’s banquet will be held:

February 8, 2020
At Ivy Farms Community of Faith Church in Newport News
We hope to see you there to report what God will do through these committed and energetic teens this summer!
