The Planning Team for Walkathon ’26 met yesterday. Seven folks came together to nail down details on scheduling, logo, and t-shirt design for our spring fundraising walk that will take place on Saturday, April 18th, 2026.

Part of the discussion was how to state our mission in 6 words or less for a logo or on a t-shirt.

One suggestion was “Bringing the Good News to Children.” That succinct phrase does capture the main purpose of Child Evangelism Fellowship. CEF International states it this way: Our ministry vision is to reach Every Child, Every Nation, Every Day.

Each of our staff and volunteers here at CEF of Peninsula has been trained to present the gospel to children anywhere, anytime! You are reading this newsletter because you are supporting this ministry through volunteering, giving, or praying. You know we cannot wait for children to enter a church building, so…

We go to where children are.

During the school year, we want to have a Good News Club team in each one of the 82 elementary schools in our area. You will see in our calendar section that we have more work to do! We are close to reaching ¼ of our schools. It is not enough! If your church is not conducting outreach to the closest elementary school, will you be obedient to Matthew 28:19 and gather an after-school team and make disciples?

This summer, our teen missionaries went to homes, churches, and apartment complexes to share the Good News. John Steiner served as our summer intern who drove teams of teens to two 5-Day Clubs per day. See his testimony about how the teen training camp helped prepare him to share his faith. Are you asking the Lord to strengthen the faith of teens you know? Check out the CYIA program. The next CYIA camp will be June 21-27, 2026 at Christchurch School, Christchurch, VA.

Let’s be about the Lord’s business of “Bringing the Good News to children!”
