Dear CEF Volunteers and Supporters,

As we follow Jesus together through the COVID19 pandemic, I am reminded that when things go wrong in our lives, we need to always trust God and ask Him, “What do You want me to learn?”

We have been doing exactly that in our Peninsula chapter. Our state-wide prayer chains, led by our awesome prayer coordinator Carol Smith, have been asking God to provide us with innovative and effective methods to reach children when we are not allowed to be in the schools.

Over this past school year, we learned to hold Good News Clubs over the internet via Zoom conferencing. Holiday party clubs and 5-Day Club summer ministries were held in homes, parks, and church parking lots. Despite the restrictions, we were able to reach 151 children with 70 children trusting Christ!

I would like to let you know that we have hired a CEF of Peninsula Chapter Coordinator. His name is Reverend Christopher Obe. Chris is excited about helping our chapter grow so that we can reach more children with the Gospel of salvation. He is involved with developing our chapter’s strategic plan to help us grow a vital reach into the Lord’s harvest, His children.

We are now holding Good News Clubs in half of the schools that had clubs pre-COVID, with 6 of 16 school systems on the Peninsula allowing after-school activities. The number of open schools continues to grow at a rapid pace and we hope to reach the pre-pandemic level of participation soon. Please pray for us to grow quickly and to effectively reach more children.
God is answering your prayers for more workers to go where the children gather. Just this month:

  • The child care coordinator at Newport Harbour Community Center asked the Bassette Good News Club team to hold a weekly Good News Club for after-school care for children beginning in January.
  • A Lancaster church wants help starting a new Good News Club at Lancaster Primary – the only elementary school for that entire county!
  • A new Youth pastor in Toano contacted our Chapter asking how we can help him start a Kids Club at his church. We love to train children’s workers to share the gospel on a child’s level!
We all know this is a difficult time for children.

Would you please ask the Lord…
… to send more workers to reach His harvest – the children
… for protection from evil
… to enable each volunteer to meet the needs of the children they reach
… and for the finances to support the teams who GO with the Gospel?

Your prayers and gifts make it possible to reach children with the Good News about Jesus, God’s greatest gift!

Thank you for your support; praise God for what He does for His Glory.

Soli Deo Gloria,

Kevin O Mooers <><
